Trustees aim to visit the team in Uganda regularly to assess work, scope futureprojects, and encourage the team. A visit was made in February 2020, and then travel within Uganda was restricted due to the pandemic. The team carried on with work where allowed during the restrictions, clean water being even more essential, and contact with trustees was limited to digital means.
In April/May 2023 trustees Tom Jackson and Barbara Lucas finally visited Iganga and were welcomed enthusiastically; it was great to get together.
We had a busy, very productive time. As well as providing a long overdue boost to morale, new working arrangements were developed, skills were taught, and the team expanded to aid sustainability and succession for the future. It was reassuring to visit projects, to see the quality of work continuing, and see new initiatives such as the soap making project.
