Handwash and girls washroom at Kalasa School

The 1,103 pupils at Kalasa school can now wash their hands. Older girls have a washroom, which will ensure they can go to school when they have their period. There are also three water points for the 757 people who live nearby. We are very grateful to officers at Mwansabombwe Town Council, in remote northern Zambia, who have run the project so efficiently.

Our Zambia projects are being carried out in partnership with the new executive of the Zambia Institute of Environmental Health, led by the President Dr Titus Hakoonde. They have appointed one of their members, Kennedy Mulele, to manage the Water for Kids Projects. We are excited to be working with Titus, Kennedy and their colleagues as they have engaged with such enthusiasm and professionalism, right from the start.
