We are saddened to hear of the loss of our colleague, Greenford Sikazwe who died of Covid-19 on 24 January. He managed the Water for Kids projects from 2010 to 2012 and has supported the charity’s work in Zambia ever since.
Greenford was a warm and generous man with a great sense of humour. He was a very professional Project Manager who was instrumental in bringing safe water to the communities of Chipapa, Fumbelo and Madimba.
He had a real love for his country Zambia and for Environmental Health. He worked in leading roles in local government in Lusaka, Petauke and during the last six months, in Kitwe on the Copper Belt. As Chief Executive of Petauke Council, he enabled Water for Kids recent project in Mwanjabantu, where 12 village boreholes were drilled. We have never worked anywhere so remote. One of the highlights of our long trips to Petauke, was spending a delightful evening with our friend Greenford.
We send our condolences to his wife and two sons.
